- После включения питания цифровая система обычно должна быть принудительно приведена в определенное начальное состояние. Для микрокомпьютеров и микропроцессоров предусмотрен вход сброса, к которому в простых приложениях подключается RC-цепь. После включения питания эта схема поддерживает логический уровень на этом входе высоким (или низким) до тех пор, пока напряжение питания не достигнет номинального значения, а внутренняя логика микрокомпьютера не выполнит инициализацию системы.
- Однако эта схема работает плохо при кратковременных падениях напряжения питания. В этом случае конденсатор C должен быстро разряжаться через диод D, что произойдет только если напряжение питания V cc упадет ниже порогового напряжения (1…2 В) входа сброса. Небольшое снижение V cc ниже рекомендованного минимального напряжения питания может уничтожить содержимое памяти и регистров, но при этом не активировать схему сброса. Это может иметь катастрофические последствия.
