Устройство MCP23X18 обеспечивает 16-разрядное параллельное расширение ввода/вывода общего назначения для приложений с шиной I2C или SPI. Два устройства различаются только последовательным интерфейсом.
• MCP23018 — интерфейс I2C
• MCP23S18 — интерфейс SPI
MCP23X18 состоит из нескольких 8-разрядных регистров конфигурации для выбора входа, выхода и полярности. Системный ведущий может настроить линии ввода/вывода как входы или выходы, записывая биты конфигурации ввода/вывода. Данные для каждого входа или выхода хранятся в соответствующем регистре входа или выхода. Полярность регистра порта ввода может быть инвертирована с помощью регистра инверсии полярности. Все регистры могут быть прочитаны системным ведущим.

\- Выводы ввода/вывода по умолчанию являются входами
• Выходы с открытым стоком:
\- Допустимое напряжение до 5,5 В
\- Способность принимать ток 25 мА (на вывод)

• Высокоскоростной интерфейс I2C™: (*MCP23018**)
\- 100 кГц
\- 400 кГц
\- 3,4 МГц
• Высокоскоростной интерфейс SPI: (*MCP23S18**)
\- 10 МГц: 2,7 В ≤ VDD ≤ 5,5 В
• Один вывод аппаратного адреса: (*MCP23018**)
\- Вход по напряжению, позволяющий подключать до восьми устройств на шине
• Настраиваемые выводы прерывания:
\- Настраиваются как активный высокий, активный низкий или открытый сток
• Настраиваемый источник прерывания:
\- Прерывание по изменению от настроенных значений по умолчанию или изменения вывода
• Регистр инверсии полярности для настройки полярности
